Waupun PD Makes Arrest In Stolen Vehicle Incident

A 42 year old Kingston man was taken into custody following a stolen vehicle incident Monday evening. The suspect was arrested in the 700 block of W Main St in the city of Waupun Monday evening at approximately 10:51pm.

Waupun Deputy Police Chief Jeremy Rasch tells KFIZ News the man had stolen a vehicle from the Kingston area and Green Lake County Sheriff had pursued the suspect. The vehicle was later located at a gas station in Waupun by Waupun PD officers.

Onstar was able to disable the vehicle but the suspect refused to exit the vehicle for over an hour while officers communicated and negotiated with him. Two approach teams made contact with the suspect who eventually exited the vehicle.

The man was taken into custody without force and was turned over to the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office for local charges. A number of Agencies assisted with this incident and included the Waupun Police Department, Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Beaver Dam Police Department, and Ripon Police Department.
