Waupun Police Department Awards

The Waupun Police Department Awards Committee was established in 2017 in order to formally recognize the outstanding efforts and accomplishments of sworn and civilian members of the Department, and increase the awareness of the sacrifices, services, and contributions made by the members of our Department. Three officers were awarded with a Commendation Award during the first department awards luncheon.


Commendation Award

Officer Jason Hraban – For the past 5 years Officer Jason Hraban has been tasked with school safety in preparation to active shooter incidents. He has actively prepared and taught school personnel, students, businesses, community members, and law enforcement how to respond to these incidents. He is an active member of the Dodge County School Planning Committee. He continues to go above and beyond with this program.


Commendation Award

Officer Mike Navis – On June 13, 2017 at a residence in the 400 block of Fond du Lac St, Officer Michael Navis went above and beyond checking the welfare of an elderly woman. It is believed with these outstanding efforts he contributed to saving her life.


Commendation Award

Officer Robert Williams – On November 24, 2016 while on patrol in the area of W Main St and N Division St Officer Robert Williams went above and beyond by helping a woman in distress who was attacked and assaulted by a man. It is believed these outstanding efforts protected this woman from further attacks. Officer Robert Williams was also commended forhis outstanding trial testimony in July 2017 by Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney.


Life Saving Award


Pictured those involved.  Officer Brett Gerritsen will be awarded a Life Saving Award at the Fond du Lac County Law Executives Awards Banquet.  Fond du Lac County Sergeant Jeff Bonack will also receive a Life Saving Award for this incident.
