Waupun Police Trying To Fill Two Openings

The Waupun Police Department is in the process of hiring two new police officers. Deputy Police Chief Scott Louden says they’ve already begun some of the testing for the positions. He says they did a physical agility test this past week. He says they had 20 to 25 people apply for the openings in their department. He says they used to keep an eligibility list for openings that come up, but they don’t get as many applicants as they used to and those who they don’t hire are likely to be snapped up by another law enforcement agency. Louden says officers will be graduating soon from a law enforcement academy so that has actually helped with the number of applicants they got for these two positions on their police department.
