Waupun Woman Heads to Trial in Overdose Death Case

A Waupun woman is heading to trial after a court finds probable cause in her connection to another woman’s overdose death. 38-year old Jackie Meyer faces one county of first degree reckless homicide as a repeat offender. She’s accused of supplying heroin and cocaine that led to the 2016 death of Karen Sadowski. Meyer was connected to the crime after police found deleted text messages between the women. If convicted on the homicide charge, she faces up to 40 years in prison. She could also have another six years added for being a repeat offender for felony heroin possession. Meyer is set to appear in court next month.
