Weekly Gas Price Report: Price at Pump Continues to Drop Heading Into Final Week of the Month

Drivers in Wisconsin and across the nation continue to see
gas prices fall at the pump as we move into the final week of August. As of
Sunday night, Triple-A reports the average price for a gallon of regular
unleaded in the U.S. was at $2.59, down three cents from last week and down 16
cents from a month ago. In Wisconsin, the statewide average price sits at $2.55
a gallon, which is down four cents from last week. Data shows that drivers in
Kenosha County have the lowest price at the pump, at $2.44 a gallon, while Iron
County in northern Wisconsin has the highest price at $2.80. In Fond du Lac
County, the average cost per gallon is at $2.48, with prices in neighboring
counties ranging between $2.53 to $2.58.
