West Shore Pipeline Won’t Be Rebuilt

(WRN) A pipeline that carried gasoline from Milwaukee
to northeastern Wisconsin
will not be rebuilt. West Shore Pipeline Company shut down the line just over a
year ago due to a leak. Since then, ships have delivered fuel to the Port of Green Bay,
and the Walker
administration has extended the delivery hours for tanker trucks in the region.
Wisconsin Petroleum Council executive director Erin Roth says there has not
been a big uptick in gas prices since the closure. Roth says he hasn’t heard
that any other companies might be interested in building a pipeline, noting
it’s a long process to get permits and easements from property owners.
