WI Dems Say “NO” To Budget Increase

In Washington this week, two Wisconsin Democrats were not on board with increasing the Pentagon budget.

The House passed a final version of the massive 768 billion defense authorization bill late Tuesday night with overwhelming bipartisan support.

Wisconsin Democrats Mark Pocan and Gwen Moore were among the 70 no votes. Pocan tweeted that “cutting the Pentagon’s budget could help fight threats like COVID, climate change, and more.”

The final bill, assembled behind closed doors by the leaders of the House and Senate Armed Services committees, now heads to the Senate. It’s expected to pass there and move on to President Joe Biden for his signature.
