WI National Guard Teams Help Collect Tests Statewide

The Wisconsin National
Guard has placed 25 collection teams across the state, in an effort to support
local health departments and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services in an
effort to increase the state’s COVID-19 testing capacity. More than 600 Citizen
Soldiers and Airmen have established mobile testing sites ranging from
correctional facilities and health clinics, to private businesses, as well as
community-based testing sites. The teams have collected over 7,600 tests in Brown County,
in excess of 8,000 tests in Milwaukee County, and over 1,100 in Outagamie, Winnebago and Calumet Counties. As of May 15, National Guard
teams had collected 33.678 specimens statewide, with over 5,000 of those
collected on May 14 alone.
