WI State Senate Approves Pay Raise For State Troopers

A new deal signed in The Wisconsin Senate Wednesday would raise salaries for Wisconsin State Patrol troopers nearly 10%. The new contract would go into effect for 370 troopers, and would increase salaries by $6,000 a year.

The new deal would also adjust the pay scale for all troopers based on years of service, and would be used as a motivator to raise the level of recruitment and retention. The deal is retroactive to the deal that was in place and had ended in July 2019.

If the deal is approved, the 370 Troopers would receive a lump sum payment. The contract now goes to the Assembly for a vote.
