WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament – Day 2: 

Division 1 – 145 pounds: 

Fond du Lac’s Isaac Ortegon lost his quarterfinal match to Jack Ganos of Arrowhead by a pin in 3:00. Ortegon will wrestle Noah Leisgang of Ashwaubenon in the consolation bracket this morning. 

Division 2 – 113 pounds: 

Waupun’s Easton Hull fell in his first match at state to Wyatt Kaczrowski of Seymour by a 13-5 major decision. Hull then lost in the consolation bracket to Brendan Konitzer of Oconto Falls by a 3-1 decision. 

Division 2 – 120 pounds: 

Kiel’s Andrew Schad lost in the quarterfinals to Blaine Brenner of Stanley-Boyd/Owen-Withee by a tech fall. Schad then defeated Devin Gore of Plymouth in the consolation bracket by a 9-1 major decision. Schad will wrestle Kaleb Mannel of Waupaca in the consolation round this morning. 

Division 2 – 126 pounds: 

Chilton/Hilbert’s Joe Boehnlein lost his first match at state to Kaiden Koltz of Wrightstown by a 5-0 decision. Boehnlein then defeated Jordan Bonte of Baldwin-Woodville in the consolation bracket by a 7-4 decision. Boehnlein will wrestle Evan Wolfe of West Salem/Bangor in the consolation round today. 

Division 2 – 132 pounds: 

Kiel’s Joah Lund lost in the quarterfinals to Bailey Thelen of Two Rivers by a pin in 4:26. Lund then lost in the consolation bracket to Cale Anderson of Viroqua by a tech fall. 

Division 2 – 145 pounds: 

Kewaskum’s Braeden Scoles won his quarterfinal match over Lowell Arnold of Portage by a 5-3 decision. Scoles then advanced to the Championship Match with a 14-0 major decision win over Walker Ingham of Amery. Scoles will wrestle Aidan Medora of St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy/Brookfield Academy in the title match tonight. 

Division 2 – 152 pounds: 

North Fond du Lac/St. Mary’s Springs’ Andrew Forsythe lost in the quarterfinals Friday morning to Ben Durocher of Wrightstown by an 11-3 major decision. Forsythe then lost to Bowen Rothbauer of Bloomer/Colfax by a pin in 3:27 in the consolation bracket to end his season. 

Kewaskum’s Braden Maertz won his quarterfinal match over Reece Piontek by a 6-2 decision. Maertz would then go on to lose to Peyton Kostka of Regis/Altoona by an 8-4 decision in the semifinals. Maertz will wrestle in the consolation bracket against Bowen Rothbauer of Bloomer/Colfax to start Saturday. 

Division 2 – 160 pounds: 

Chilton/Hilbert’s Gaven Lisowe lost his quarterfinal match to Dean Neff of Jefferson by a 10-4 decision. Lisowe then defeated Preston Morgan of Berlin in the consolation bracket by a 7-6 decision. Lisowe will wrestle Traeton Saint of Prairie du Chien in the consolation bracket today. 

Division 2 – 170 pounds: 

Chilton/Hilbert’s Trent Breckheimer lost his quarterfinal match to Bradyn Saint of Prairie du Chien by a 5-4 decision. Breckheimer then defeated Carter Paulson of Rice Lake by a 6-3 decision in the consolation bracket. Breckheimer will wrestle Sawyer Helmbrecht of Lodi in the consolation bracket to start the day. 

Division 2 – 195 pounds: 

Lomira’s Abe Helsell lost to Bryce Burns of Gale-Ettrick-Trempeleau/Melrose-Mindoro in the quarterfinals by a pin in 0:34. Helsell then lost to Eric Decker of Tomahawk by a 15-5 major decision in his first consolation match. 

Division 2 – 220 pounds: 

North Fond du Lac/St. Mary’s Springs’ Marcus Orlandoni won his quarterfinal match on Friday over Travis Legrave of Luxemburg-Casco by a 15-4 major decision. Orlandoni then lost in the semifinals to Jake Rau of Medford by a 5-3 decision. Orlandoni will begin Saturday in the consolation bracket, wrestling Gunner Hoffmann of Neillsville/Greenwood/Loyal. 

Division 2 – 285 pounds: 

North Fond du Lac/St. Mary’s Springs’ Avery Hull lost his quarterfinal match on Friday to Gabe Wertel of Denmark by a pin in 1:51. Hull then saw his season come to an end in the consolation bracket, losing to Troy Leibfried of Cuba City/Benton/Southwestern by a pin in 3:21. 

Division 3 – 160 pounds: 

Laconia’s Tyler Lovejoy lost his quarterfinal match to Nick Blaschke of Fennimore by a 4-0 decision. Lovejoy then advanced in the consolation round due to a forfeit, and will wrestle Devin Dennee of Stratford in the consolation bracket this morning.
