Wisconsin, Marquette Return to NCAA Tournament – Eight Big Ten Teams Earn Bids

A record setting eight Big Ten schools will be competing in the NCAA Tournament this year, surpassing the previous record of seven teams which was set several times previously – and most recently in 2017. The teams and matchups include:

Wisconsin – earned a #5 seed in the South Region and will play #12 seed Oregon, Friday in San Jose, California

Iowa – #10 seed in the South Region and plays #7 seed Cincinnati Friday in Columbus, Ohio

Maryland – #6 seed in the East Region and plays either #11 Belmont or #11 Temple on Friday in Jacksonville, Fla.

Michigan – #2 seed in the West Region and plays #15 Montana Thursday in Des Moines, Iowa

Michigan State – #2 seed in the East Region and plays #15 seed Bradley Thursday in Des Moines, Iowa

Minnesota – #10 seed in the East Region and plays #7 seed Louisville Thursday in Des Moines, Iowa

Ohio State – #11 Seed in the Midwest Region, plays #6 seed Iowa State Friday in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Purdue – #3 seed in the South Region, plays #14 seed Old Dominion Thursday in Columbus, Ohio.
