Wisconsin Regional Art Show At FDL Public Library

The Fond du Lac Public Library Langdon Divers Gallery is the site of the annual Wisconsin Regional Art Program (WRAP) show running through September 6.

Now in its 76th year, WRAP provides statewide art workshops and exhibits for nonprofessional artists. It encourages creative growth through community exhibits, learning opportunities and group critiques and evaluation discussions.

The public is invited to a reception and workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, August 27 at the Fond du Lac Senior Center, 151 E. First St. The reception will include “iPhone-ography,” a workshop by noted Sheboygan photographer Dale Van Minsel from 10 a.m. to noon. Then, at 1:30 p.m. in the library gallery, Van Minsel will offer a critique of the works in the WRAP show.

The Fond du Lac WRAP exhibit is sponsored by Fond du Lac Artists’ Association. Founded in 1968, the association has a membership of about 70 professional and non-professional artists who represent a wide range of talents, including painting, photography, iconography, pottery, wood turning and mixed media.  The mission of the association is to encourage the creative growth of area artists and youth, and to promote community awareness of local talent in the field of the visual arts.  For more information, visit them on Facebook at facebook.com/fdlartistsassociation.

The library’s gallery is a showcase for local and regional artists. The space is curated by volunteer artist Mel Kolstad, who can be contacted at mel@kolstad.net. For more information about the library, visit www.fdlpl.org.
