Woman Arrested for 2018 Infant Death in FDL

A 26-year-old woman has been arrested for her role in the
death of a 2-month old in Fond du Lac in June of 2018.

The Fond du Lac Police Department said in a news release
that detectives arrested the woman, who is identified as a “former Fond du Lac
resident”, for the June 25th 2018 death of the infant. The woman was
currently residing in the City of Milwaukee, and was taken into custody there
by Fond du Lac Police.

In the case, officers were called to a home in the 100
block of east Merrill Avenue just before 1 am on June 25th, 2018 for
a report that a two-month old infant was choking. The first officer that
arrived on scene determined the baby was not breathing and attempted CPR to
save the child’s life.

The baby was transported by Fond du Lac Fire
and Rescue to St. Agnes Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. An autopsy on
the infant determined that the cause of death was the result of a homicide.

Police say that no further details are being released at
this time, and that more information will be made available when a criminal
complaint is issued.
