Woman Charged in 2018 Infant Death in FDL

A 26-year-old woman has been charged with 1st
Degree Reckless Homicide for the 2018 death of an infant in Fond du Lac.

Shauntina Fuller-Pankey made her initial appearance in Fond
du Lac County Court on Wednesday. In addition to the Reckless Homicide charge,
she also faces a charge of Felony Child Abuse – Intentionally Causing Great
Bodily Harm.

Fuller-Pankey was arrested earlier this month by Fond du
Lac Police at her home in Milwaukee.

A criminal complaint says officers were called to a home in
the 100 block of Merrill Avenue for a report of a two-month old child that was
choking. The child was taken to St. Agnes Hospital where she was pronounced
dead. An autopsy revealed the child had a large skill fracture, and determined
the cause of death was a homicide. Pankey initially denied any role in the baby’s
death, but reportedly told officers earlier this month that the death was her
fault.

A $500,000 cash bond was set for Fuller-Pankey at an
earlier court hearing this month. Online court records do not list the next
court appearance.
