Woman Riding Bike Struck By Car, Flown To ThedaCare

One person was flown to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center following an accident Monday afternoon involving a vehicle/pedestrian accidnt.

The Fond du County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call Monday, February 28, 2022, at 5:18p.m., of a vehicle vs. bicycle crash on CTH M near Center Rd, which is located in the Town of Rosendale. Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Rosendale Fire Department / First Responders, and Ripon Guardian Ambulance responded to the scene.  

It was determined that a 56-year-old Pickett woman was riding a bicycle northbound on CTH M along the shoulder of the northbound lane when a northbound vehicle, driven by a 32-year-old Oshkosh man, attempted to pass by her. She was struck by the passenger side mirror resulting in her falling off the bicycle.

The woman was transported by Ripon Guardian Ambulance to Ripon Medical Center and then flown by ThedaStar to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Neenah with serious injuries. She was not wearing a helmet.  

The crash remains under investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
