Women In Technology Chapter Forming

Women in Management, Inc, (WIMI) a businesswomen’s networking group with chapters in Oshkosh, the Fox Cities, Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Manitowoc, and Green Lake-Ripon announces the formation of its newest chapter – Women in Technology (WIT).  Unlike the other chapters, WIT is based on a specific career field – women working in Information Technology (IT) roles.   It is the first such career-specific chapter hosted by Women in Management, Inc.

The theme of the new chapter is “We’ve Got IT” and encourages women of all ages and stages of their technology career development to get involved.

Based in the Fox Cities, the WIT chapter is hosting a Founding Members Breakfast on Friday, April 24 from 7:30-9am at the Butte Des Morts Country Club in Appleton.

Keynote speaker, Diane Doersch, will present Growth Mindset and Predictors of Success: Achieving Grit the World of IT.  Doersch, the Chief Technology & Information Officer for Green Bay Public Schools, will provide personal insights on how she developed grit and a growth mindset as challenges were presented in her life and career.

Women attending will have the opportunity to become a Founding Member of WIT and preview the plans for the inaugural season. Plans are being made for summer socials and events through April of 2016, including presentations by nationally-recognized female executives and authors.

WIT Chapter founding members —  Michelle Schuler of EDCi IT Services and Kathy Fredrickson of Imark Consulting in the Fox Cities area — proposed the formation of the new group based on a growing market need in Northeast Wisconsin to grow, attract and retain women in technology-related careers. Schuler serves as the WIT Chapter President and Fredrickson as the Vice President of Programs.
