Work on Highway 23 Expansion in FDL County Begins Tuesday

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation announced Friday
that work on the Highway 23 expansion project in Fond du Lac County is set to
begin this coming Tuesday (April 21st). This work is considered the “rural”
portion of the project in the county, and will take place between Seven Hills
Road and the Fond du Lac/Sheboygan County Line. This phase of the project is scheduled
to finish in October of 2021.

The DOT says one lane of Highway 23 in each direction will
remain open, and that drivers should expect four nighttime closures. County Highway
G will also close so an interchange can be constructed starting in May of this
year. Other temporary and permanent side road intersection closures will also
take place. More information about this phase of the expansion project can be
found on the DOT project website.
