Yelich, Moustakas & Grandal Among Position Leaders in All-Star Voting

Christian Yelich, Mike Moustakas and Yasmani Grandal are among the top three vote getters at their respective positions as Major League All-Star balloting continues. As of Monday morning, Yelich was in second place for National League outfielders, Moustakas was second in National League second baseman voting and Grandal was third in National League catcher voting. Yelich has 2,065,382 votes, pacing him behind Cody Bellinger of the LA Dodgers – who leads with 2,184,251 votes. Moustakas has 966,391 votes – sitting behind current leader Ozzie Albies of the Atlanta Braves. Grandal (513,412) sits behind leader Willson Contreras of the Cubs and Brian McCann of Atlanta.

The first round of voting ends at 3 pm central time on Friday. The top-three vote getters at each position (including nine outfielders) per league move onto “The Starters Election”. Voting for that begins the afternoon of June 26th, and concludes on June 27th, with starters announced the night of the 27th. The All-Star Game is July 9th in Cleveland.
